I began developing my simple, effective writing style at a young age. As a first-generation Canadian constantly translating obtuse language and jargon into simple English for my family, I found that people sometimes gave information in a needlessly complicated way. Years of working with searching customers, potential job candidates, prospective news sources and anxious medical patients convinced me of this. People want answers quickly and information explained simply.

I’ve collected over a decade’s worth of research, editorial and clerical experience in a variety of fields, each with unique needs and a hectic pace.  While in Toronto, I performed newsroom research for the Toronto Star, Canada’s largest circulation daily newspaper, and provided HR support to the private company behind the Ontario government’s province-wide Telehealth service. After relocating to rural southwestern Ontario, I managed the daily client caseload for a branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses, Canada’s largest charitable home and community care organization.

Trained as a journalist, I’ve written for several weekly newspapers in Perth county, including the Stratford Gazette, Your Neighbourhood Weekly and the Mitchell Advocate. I launched Longbow Business Solutions at the beginning of 2008 to offer small businesses, publications and non-profits a chance to deliver their message, simply, cleanly and on target.
